  • Jon Gordon (born January 20, 1971) is an American author and keynote speaker known for his work on leadership, culture, sales, and teamwork.

    At age 24, Gordon opened a restaurant and bar in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Shortly after, he founded a nonprofit organization that raised money for youth-focused charities. At 26, he ran for Atlanta City Council, personally visiting more than 7,000 homes during his campaign, though he ultimately lost the election.

    Throughout his career, Gordon has partnered with numerous athletic organizations, academic institutions, and major corporations. His clients have included the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, University of Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson University Tigers, University of Nebraska Athletic Department, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Campbell Soup Company, Wells Fargo, Northwestern Mutual, Publix, Southwest Airlines, Bayer, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, among others. He also works extensively with K–12 educators and administrators across North America.

    In 2015, Gordon released The Energy Bus Animated Training Program, an interactive course based on his bestselling book The Energy Bus. The following year, he launched Positive University, an online community and learning platform focused on personal growth, resilience, and overcoming everyday challenges.

    Gordon’s work has been featured in The Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, The Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post, among other major publications.

    He holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from Cornell University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Emory University.

    Gordon often emphasizes the power of mindset, teaching that negative thoughts divide and weaken us, while positive thinking fosters unity and strength. He believes individuals can learn to observe their thoughts without being controlled by them—and ultimately choose positivity instead.
